Remastered for DVD in 2008, this classic William Higgins title is worth another look. It was rather experimental in that there's no real plot holding it together, save for a brief intro and outro. The print used is in very good shape, with very few artifacting moments. It's a tad dark in spots even though it was shot in the sun-splashed outdoors; this is probably more due to the film stock than the transfer. Watch for the scene that appears about 25 minutes in which a wayward puppy - a real dog, that is - wanders onto the poolside set, sniffs around, licks its chops, and then quickly moves out of frame. Very funny. The classic finale is just that - a classic. The camera pans around the entire pool and the entire cast is lying on their side sucking off the guy in front of them. It's truly an amazing sight to behold.Some of the photography is a tad too off its mark at times (hard to see with all that's going on) but again... it doesn't really matter. This one has both its rabid fans and admirers, as well as those who think it's a cheapskate type of trick from the director.
